I watched the documentary " Objectified " There are many things in the documentary that correspond to its title because fundamentally, the intent of something is to design and make it become objectively productive or easy to use. In "objectified," it talked about how a product is designed is all about measuring consumers on both ends of the extreme, and if such extreme is handled with care, then the middle customer will take care of itself. Even small items like toothpicks can be designed in a way that certain customers find very comforting to use. This reminded me of an unpleasant experience I had with certain utility gadgets in the past, and I remembered a very stiff and sore hand survival knife I had during one of my youth cadet camp training. The handle was metallic with a small rubber wrap around it; just gripping it hurt. So I decided to make another similar copy from memory, but this time I replaced the handle with spongy textures in places where people would normally place their hands, which would provide a much better grip and make it more useful, simple but useful.

Papercraft revision / prototype

                                                                      Laser cutting revision prototype  The prototype is made up of pure solid blocks for me to understand how basically I should put this together. In the revisioned version, I added the inside structure and sockets for the pen. However, I miscalculated the diameter of the socket, making the cap a little too small, therefore it can not be completely socketed. overall, I think there is much to improve on, but I'm satisfied with the result considering my first attempt ended in a hot mess.
